Real Madrid won
32 against Barcelona in their Spanish Super Cup semifinal.
Real took the lead in the first half through
Vinicius Jr, as his powerful drive flew past Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the 25th
minute.
Barcelona equalized just before halftime,
however, as Eder Militao`s clearance from a cross rebounded off of Luuk de Jong
and into the net.
After hitting the post midway through the
second half, Karim Benzema put Real in front on 72 minutes, once again
showcasing his wonderful poaching instincts.
However, it was Real Madrid who made the
breakthrough in extra time. Federico Valverde scored the winning goal in the
98th minute, ending the game successfully with a pass from Rodrigo.
Real will advance to the final and face Atlético Madrid's winner against Athletic Bilbao, but Barcelona will
not be disappointed with this performance, especially with the ball.
